I'd blogged about Wed's (3/31/10) White House Forum on Workplace Flexibility and wondered whether they would have a balanced view of technology, organizational practice, and human needs. Today, Dave Iverson hosted a segment on KQED following up on the Forum. He included these panelists:
*Jeffrey Pfeffer, professor of organizational behavior in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University
*June Bower, vice president of the Cisco Collaboration Software Group
*Netsy Firestein, executive director of the Labor Project for Working Families
*Scott Hauge, president of CAL Insurance and Associates and president and founder of Small Business California, a bipartisan organization that advocates and provides education for small business
I had to get out of the car before they ended (I have the mp3 for next trip), but it seemed like June Bower of Cisco did a nice job of bringing in the technology piece. She said that Cisco appreciated flexibility -- but that it was critical that they had the tools to make it work. Nice combination of technology and practice. Any chance we can include June Bower in a future session?
