Since we didn't have a time to collectively summarize what we each might have gotten out of this week's Symposium, I thought I'd jot down my thoughts. Here's what I got from the papers and discussions on generational differences.
1. There are probably no fundamental or inherent differences between generations' abilities or overall attitudes towards work and workplace, other than differences that are more or less normal between older and younger generations and which we have personally experienced over our own career cycles. For example, younger folks probably can't effectively multi-task any more effectively than those in earlier generations, though those of us who are older may, through aging, find multi-tasking a bit more difficult.
