Symposium 11: Innovation Through New Ways of Working

Event Date:
Sun, 09/25/2011 - Wed, 09/28/2011
Symposium Location:
Utrecht, The Netherlands
Symposium Program:

JOIN us this September in Utrecht to explore how organizations encourage and support innovation given the new reality of distributed work.

The event will feature Dr. Bettina von Stamm, director and catalyst of the Innovation Leadership Forum, who will present a research paper on Innovation through New Ways of Working. Follow-up discussions will focus on innovation challenges:

  • What is the impact of the increasing global distribution of groups on the ability of companies to innovate?
  • Do groups have to be collocated to innovate?
  • How does trying to innovate using information technologies change the company and its culture?
  • What’s the impact on trust and the transfer of informal knowledge, which are so important for innovation, of increasingly virtual and distributed groups?
  • How does serendipity happen in a distributed company?

New WOW’s host for the meeting is YNNO (www.YNNO.com), a Netherlands-based consultancy firm specializing in innovative ways of working. Participants will convene at Youmeet, YNNO’s creative meeting center.

Costs for the symposium are included for New WOW members, but all attendees must pay US$350 for incidental food costs. The fee for the symposium for non-members is US$900 (plus the incidental food fee). All attendees pay their own lodging expenses.
