Came across this article, Why Companies Should Force Employees to Unplug, the other day and thought it might be interesting to think about. Some pretty large corporations have started implementing "unplugging" measures for their employees to ensure they are not working outside of designated hours. They hope to improve work-life balance.
Dilbert’s boss orders an underling to work from home to reduce the company's carbon footprint. The employee refuses, saying that his “egg carton” office space is far better than working at his home.

Members attending the New Ways of Working Symposium spent a day at Facebook's new headquarters campus in Menlo Park, California. We were immersed in the Facebook experience, starting with taking the Facebook bus, and having a hearty breakfast in the company cafeteria followed by several presentations and discussions focusing on the design of campus and its work settings.
