New Ways of Working plans to investigate work performance measurement and innovation.

Los Gatos, CA September 1, 2010 -- New Ways of Working, (NewWOW), a member organization focused on alternative workplace solutions, announced plans for its research effort for the next year. Thought leaders in the organization investigate and summarize the academic research literature in specific topics areas each year. The organization identified two topics for deep dives:

• Innovation and New Ways of Working

New report from New Ways of Working highlights key elements of a successful distributed work program

Los Gatos, California – June 22, 2010 - The common phrase “I’m going to work” suggests that work is just one place. But increasingly work occurs in many places. Members of the New Ways of Working Network and the Telework Coalition have published a new report highlighting key elements of a successful distributed work program.

Sponsorship opportunities are now available for ECO2 Workplace --a tool for assessing the sustainability of organizations’ ways of working. This tool will be available for use by the members of the New Ways of Network and their clients by the end of 2008. Sponsors will have exposure on the tool with their logos and one page descriptions, in press releases and marketing material and on the New WOW website. Sponsorships are available for $25,000 per year. Other sponsorships are also available.

As companies rethink their design, supply chain and product life-cycles to minimize their environmental impact, they also have to rethink how their employees work as a significant contributor to green house gas emissions. Up until now, there hasn’t been a convenient way to assess organizational ways of working. But with ECO2 Workplace, organizations can comprehensively assess the sustainability of ways of working-- encompassing where groups are located, the energy efficiencies of the buildings they work in, their commute patterns, meeting and business travel, including especially air travel, and their use of technology.

HP’s Chris Hood & Telework Network’s John Edwards share honor

Los Gatos, California – August 31, 2009 – In recognition of the important contributions of two industry trailblazers, the New Ways of Working Network (www.NewWOW.net) has awarded its first Fellows of the New Ways of Working for the year 2009-2010. This year the honor is shared by Chris Hood, Program Manager of the HP Workplace and John M. H. Edwards, founder of the TeleworkNetwork.

PACIFIC GROVE, CA -- October 29, 2008 – In these volatile economic times, organizations are looking for ways to reduce fixed costs and are closely examining their real estate portfolios, typically their largest expense after people and technology. Yet, many organizations are ignoring a largely untapped resource: acres of empty desks. Technology has freed employees to work virtually anywhere – and they are doing so each day.


A study released today by New Ways of Working, a member organization focused on alternative workplace solutions, found that more than a quarter of employees in leading edge organizations do not work in a traditional workspace. Yet, 73% of respondents still assigned a dedicated workspace to these workers, therefore not realizing the full potential of space savings.
