We held our first completely virtual tertulia Thursday, September 24. Attending were members from the United States and Europe. The group discussed the trends and context for Work 2020, a scenario that assumes a significant increase in the cost of energy in the next decade.
Jim Creighton shared research about the impacts of a dramatic increase in the price of oil; Joe Ouye discussed innovations in computer and communication science and technologies and trends in global warming; June Langhoff talked about demographic trends. This was followed by a discussion of key questions regarding possible changes in work systems.
We posted several documents that were generated by the meeting: 1) The slide presentation for Work 2020. This deck contains annotated notes made during the presentations and discussions; 2) Tertulia notes and 3) The chatroom transcript. You can find these at: http://www.newwow.net/members/node/1378.
We recorded the session. Members can view the slideshow and listen to the entire three-hour session (or any portion that interests you) by clicking on a special link. To get the link, go to: http://www.newwow.net/members/node/1318#comment-920
Many thanks to Cisco WebEx for hosting our session and special thanks to John Si for helping us navigate the platform.
