New Ways of Working will launch its 2011 Benchmarking Study at the end of May. The study, now in its fourth year, will examine how leading organizations around the world implement, manage, and profit from alternative workplace practices, settings, and locations.
Pacific Grove, CA (PRWEB) May 11, 2011 -- New Ways of Working (New WOW), a member organization focused on alternative workplace solutions, is preparing to launch its New Ways of Working Benchmarking Study. The study, now in its fourth year, reports types of alternative workplaces and work options used, status and length of program, business drivers, provisioning, barriers, change management, values, benefits, and recessionary impacts.
Alternative Workplace (AW) is the combination of nontraditional work practices, settings, and locations that supplement or replace traditional offices. AW practices include mobile work inside and outside the office, hoteling, work from home (telecommuting), and work from third party places, among others.
The last survey, conducted in 2009, looked at alternative workplace practices in 103 organizations including leading Fortune 100 companies. For a summary of the 2009 AW Benchmarking Survey results, see: http://www.newwow.net/public/alternative-workplace-strategies-current-ec...
Members of the New Ways of Working Benchmarking Committee include Ann Zis, Applied Materials; Chris Hood, CB Richard Ellis; Margaret Long, Hewlett Packard; Gabor Nagy, Haworth Ideation; Glenn Dirks, Teletrips; Jim Creighton, NewWOW; Nils Gersberg, Institute for Facility Management, Zurich University for Applied Sciences; Reza Ahmadi, Jones Lang LaSalle and Joe Ouye, NewWOW.
Sponsors for the survey include the Lienhard Office Group, Zurich University for Applied Sciences, and Haworth, who is contributing project management.
“Our 2009 benchmark study found that, driven by recession and the need to cut costs, the adoption of alternative workplace programs had accelerated and was becoming ‘mainstreamed.’ Now, with the third benchmark study in the series, we will be looking for continued AW adoption and other trends over a longer period of time,” said Joe Ouye, thought leader and co-founder of New Ways of Working.
How to participate
Organizations interested in participating in the study, should contact Joe Ouye, (joe.ouye@newwow.net) to obtain a survey invitation. Study participants will receive a detailed report of the survey results. Initial results are anticipated by late September 2011 with a full report following later in the year.
