Marie Puybaraud told me about this article at last week’s symposium. "Stuck in the Middle" describes how the “between generation,” born between 1954 and 1965 resents being grouped with Boomers and feels no generational connection to Gen Xers either. The author of the article, Jonathan Pontell, invented the term "Generation Jones" (GenJones ) to represent this large cohort.
It’s the generation of Barack Obama (born 1961), represents 53 million Americans (about a quarter of the US adult population) and is characterized by “unrequited idealism” and “non-ideological pragmatism.”
Why call them Jonsers?
